I try to make it out to at least one of these a year.

I usually do, but so far this year I haven't. Maybe I'll go tonight, if it's not too cold.

I go to one every Friday night. It's kind of my job.

It was my job too, in HS.

Been in HS three years, tonight's our last game and where am I? Sitting on Oppo. Still haven't gone to a game in the three years of HS...

I try to go to as many as I can. I teach most of the players and they're usually good students.

HS football games kind of suck, but I'd go to at least one, just to experience it.

I've been OUT of HS for 3 years. Didn't go to one until my senior year.

it's pretty cool besides the fact that I'll get arrested if I touch the cheerleaders.

I was gonna go to the homecoming game this year but it was raining and Petit Le Mans was on...
![]() 10/17/2014 at 19:18 |

I'm probably gonna go to at least one next year as it's my senior year next year. I'm more of a hockey fan than a football fan anyway.
![]() 10/17/2014 at 19:21 |

Even better.
I thought they sucked because I'm a big football fan, and I realized that their play is incredibly substandard compared to what I'd seen on TV.

The only football I enjoy is college. Yeah, most high school isn't as good as the pros but it can still be fun.
![]() 10/17/2014 at 19:27 |

It's barely half as good as the worst college ball you can find on Saturday morning.
But, yes, it's still a fun experience if you're there with friends.
![]() 10/17/2014 at 19:33 |

My school isn't good at all so if friends were there it'd be fun but otherwise it'd be torture.

I've never gone to a sporting event by myself, so I'd imagine so...

For me it depends what it is. Racing is amazing fun to go alone to because you're not gonna be able to talk to the person next to you most of the time anyway. More "normal" sports it really depends.

But walking around the pits and stuff is fun to do with a friend.
![]() 10/17/2014 at 20:33 |
|
Yeah, I agree there. If you don't have access to pits then you can't have that kinda fun (FUCK YOU NASCAR), but the pits are some of my favorite things.

I really need to get out east to a legitimate race track and see some TUDOR or something. We don't have access to that kind of thing out here.
![]() 10/17/2014 at 20:43 |
|
Yeah, Watkins Glen is a really nice track and a really nice area. Has gotten busier but you get pretty much full paddock access during Tudor weekend and there are a lot of places to watch from. Basically you can go everywhere but the hot pits. Well except for during the fan walks.
Just some paddock pictures from this years WG race.

Dang.
NY is pretty much tops the list of places I'd like to live once I get the crap out of here. Any part of NY, really, except for downtown Manhattan.

Where is "here" really anywhere north of Westchester County is really nice. I'm right on Lake Ontario and I love where I live. If you come near Syracuse and you haven't had a real winter you'll be in for a surprise but if you live somewhere with a winter it won't be too bad aside from the massive amounts of snow.
![]() 10/17/2014 at 20:55 |

I live in Illinois. We don't have any lake effect BS, but we get our fair share of snow. I don't mind it too much... I actually like it cold.
![]() 10/17/2014 at 20:56 |

Yeah, New York will definitely be an improvement over Illinois. We average around 24* in the winter because of the Lake but we get stupid amounts of lake effect which sucks. It's a nice area though. Lots of good driving roads in the hills.
![]() 10/17/2014 at 21:05 |
|
Dude, yes. In Southern IL where I'm from, we have some decent roads if you know where to look. But nowhere near what you guys have.
![]() 10/17/2014 at 21:08 |
|
Yeah, most places do but those flatter states aren't as good as our rolling hills states. Minnesota has some nice roads too.

I know a few people who've spent time in Wisconsin. They say it's a lot more scenic, as well.

I've got family in Minnesota and Minny is absolutely beautiful, it's kinda like NY but a little flatter with a lot more lakes. And tons more Mosquitoes.
![]() 10/17/2014 at 21:22 |

I think their winters are probably a bit colder, too.

Tough loss for my students tonight. One of the most underutilized guys got a futile but awesome touchdown though.
![]() 10/17/2014 at 21:26 |

Yeah, just a tad. Like a lot colder.

Yeah, screw upper-mid latitude continental areas.

Hey, my family is from that area. It's nice but fuck those temperatures.
